Otto's whole job is to work inside accounts that belong to somebody else. That only works if the handling of data is boring and predictable. This page says exactly what we collect, what we do not, and what Otto touches once you hire him.
Who we are
Otto Works LLC operates this website and the Otto service. You can reach a human at support@ottoworks.net. Our registered address is 1500 N Grant St Ste R, Denver, CO 80203, United States.
What this website collects
The hire form on the home page asks for three things: your name, your email address, and a description of the work you want taken off your plate. When you submit it, our server also records the time, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string. That is the whole list.
That information is emailed to support@ottoworks.net and written to a log file on our server that is not reachable from the web. We use it for one purpose: to reply to you and, if you hire Otto, to set him up.
We do not set cookies on this website. We run no third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, and no session tracking, so nothing here follows you to another site. Like every website, our host keeps standard server logs, which record your IP address, the time, and the page you asked for. We look at these only in aggregate, to get a rough sense of how much traffic the site gets and where it comes from. They are not cookies, they are not shared, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
One exception worth naming: the fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, so loading the page sends your IP address to Google. If you would rather that did not happen, a browser extension that blocks third-party font loading will stop it, and the site still works.
What Otto touches once you hire him
Otto works inside the accounts you already own, using access you grant. Depending on which jobs you hand him, that can include your email, your invoicing or bookkeeping software, your calendar, and your CRM or enquiry inbox.
- Your data stays in your accounts. Otto reads and writes where you put him. We do not copy your business data into a separate store of our own beyond what is needed to carry out a task and keep a log of it.
- We do not train models on your data. Not our own, not anybody else's.
- We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for marketing. Ever, by anyone.
- Every action is logged. You can read what Otto did and when. Actions are reversible.
- A human supervises Otto. That means a person on our side may see your data in the course of checking his work or fixing something you have raised.
When you cancel, you revoke Otto's access from your own accounts and we delete the working credentials on our side. Tell us if you also want the activity logs deleted and we will do it.
Who else is involved
Running a service means using other companies. The ones that can come into contact with your information are:
- Hosting and email
- Hostinger, who host this website and the support@ottoworks.net mailbox.
- AI model providers
- Otto is built on large language models operated by third parties. Task content is sent to them so Otto can do the work. We use business or enterprise arrangements where the provider does not train on the content we send.
- Payments
- Card and bank details are handled by our payment processor, not by us. We never see or store your full card number.
- The tools you already use
- Whatever you connect Otto to. Those remain your accounts under your own agreements with those vendors.
We will tell you before adding any processor that changes this picture in a way that matters to you.
How long we keep things
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for twelve months and then deleted, so we are not sitting on a pile of strangers' email addresses. Records for active clients are kept while you are a client and afterwards only where we have to, such as invoices for tax purposes. Activity logs are kept for the length of the engagement plus ninety days unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access credentials for client accounts are stored encrypted and are held by the smallest number of people who need them. Access is revoked when an engagement ends.
No one can honestly promise a system cannot be breached. What we can promise is that if something happens that affects your data, we will tell you promptly and in plain words, not in a press release.
Your choices
Email support@ottoworks.net and you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. We will not make you jump through hoops or ask why. If you are in a place with specific data rights such as California or the EEA, those rights apply and this is how you use them.
We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Children
Otto is a business service. It is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, email current clients rather than quietly editing the page.
